The National Security Scheme (ENS) is a regulatory framework established by Royal Decree 311/2022 of 3 May, the purpose of which is to guarantee adequate protection of the information and services handled by public administrations and their suppliers. This scheme defines a series of basic principles and minimum requirements that must be met to ensure the security of information systems, classifying them into different categories according to their level of criticality: basic, medium and high.
