If we look back at what the last 18 months have been like in terms of AI, we see that the technological advances have been amazing. However, from our point of view, the great breakthrough has been the reception these technologies have had with the general public. Used to having meetings with more technical profiles such as CTOs, CDOs, Data Architects, Data Scientists, etc., the big change has been the interest that technology has sparked in a more business-oriented audience.
This hype, powered by generative AI and especially by services like Azure Open AI, has allowed us to work hand in hand with business teams in exploring technology in cases that would bring differential value to the organization. In this article, we will detail four business cases where Azure Open AI creates an impact on processes associated with SAP and that can be applied to any organization that has SAP. All these projects are currently in productive environments and are a clear example of how AI can optimize processes and improve the competitiveness of organizations.
- SAP Data Analytics Assistant: The scenario is simple, we integrate SAP data (BW, S4HANA, ECC, etc.) into our Data Lake (Synapse, Databricks). Through a web application and using Azure Open AI's LLM models, we generate an interface that allows us to consult SAP data in real-time, performing specific analyses and generating ad hoc visualizations based on our requests.

SAP Sales Order Integration in WhatsApp ChatBot: Undoubtedly, the development of chatbots is experiencing a golden age with the use of LLM models. With the help of Azure OpenAI and through approaches based on Chain Thoughts, we can integrate our SAP systems into communication channels oriented towards employees or customers with which to interact and access information associated with purchase orders and stock status.

Automatic Invoice Processing and Integration with SAP: A common requirement in any organization that consumes a huge amount of time for finance and accounting teams is invoice processing. With the use of Azure Cognitive Services and Generative AI models, we optimize the automatic processing of invoices, eliminating the cost of tools like SAP Central Invoice Management or external OCRs. This project optimizes costs, reduces times, and above all improves the accuracy ratio in the processing of non-digital invoices.

Semantic Search in SAP Ecommerce: Improving our customers' user experience is a critical point when it comes to materializing sales. If we talk about an ecommerce, a painful point where the commitment to purchase is lost is the search for products, in many cases due to technology and in others due to the quality of our data making this search action critical. With the use of LLM models and vectorizing the content of our material masters, we can improve the search in our ecommerce and increase the purchase ratio of our users.
